Las Vegas Steak Houses

By Kate Evelyn

Las Vegas Steak Houses
Beyond the neon lights and the casino floors, Las Vegas has some prestigious golf courses. These include the three Johnny Miller courses at Badlands Golf Club: Diablo, Outlaw and Badlands. All incorporate the natural desert terrain, which makes for a pretty ideal rough area. After a challenging golf day, head back to the city proper and you can find a number of steak houses to satisfy your cravings.

Delmonico's Steakhouse

This Creole-inspired steakhouse was the brainchild of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. The menu features three steak types: ribeye, bone in rib and bone in New York strip; plus such entrees as barbeque salmon with andouille sausage, creole-boiled Gulf shrimp and crab cakes with fennel confit. The atmosphere is upscale and intimate, designed to facilitate conversations among family and friends. Delmonico's is inside the Venetian hotel. Its lunch hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., daily. Dinner hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant is open until 10:30.

BOA Steakhouse

If you want a steakhouse with modern décor and a menu to match, check out BOA. You'll find plenty of traditional steaks to satisfy you, like porterhouse, filet mignon and New York strip; but you'll also see Japanese wagyu, kobe flatiron and New Zealand lamb. The signature dish here is the surf and turf, which is a steak plus prawns, lobster or king crab legs. All steak entrees come with your choice of rubs or sauces. For lunch you can get a burger or salad instead of one of the pricier meals. BOA is in the Forum at Caesars Palace. Hours are noon to 11:30 p.m., daily.

CraftSteak

Billed as a "simple" steakhouse, not because of its atmosphere but due to chef Tom Colicchio's penchant for pure ingredients, much of this restaurant's menu comes from smaller niche and family farms. You can have your steak braised, grilled or roasted to order in one of the following cuts: filet mignon, skirt steak, New York strip, flatiron, T-bone or ribeye. Only filet mignon is available as surf and turf, accompanied by scallops, prawns or Maine lobster. Kids can get a six-ounce portion of skirt steak or shortribs to dine just like mom and dad. CraftSteak is in the MGM Grand Hotel. Hours are Sunday and Monday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Tuesday to Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Lunch is not available.
