After heading to the links in Grand Rapids, Michigan to try out the new set of clubs and golf balls that they received for Christmas, hungry golfers are sure to be looking to find a restaurant that is open to satisfy their food cravings. They won't be disappointed. Grand Rapids, with its close proximity to Lake Michigan, is the largest city in Kent County and home to a wide variety of restaurants that serve up everything from American fare to Asian cuisine. While finding a restaurant that is open on Christmas Day might be a challenge, visitors will be glad their perseverance paid off when they visit any of these establishments.

Bentham's Riverfront Restaurant

Bentham's Riverfront Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is a great place to get a hearty meal on Christmas Day. This casually elegant restaurant overlooks the Grand River and has a breakfast menu that includes everything from cold cereals, a traditional continental breakfast, or eggs cooked anyway you like them with a choice of breakfast meats. The lunch and dinner menus are varied as well. Diners can select from a Caesar or Cobb salad if they have a light appetite or from steaks, chops or chicken if they want a more substantial meal. Bentham's is open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Cyngus

With its location at the top of the Amway Grand Plaza Tower, Cyngus serves upscale American food, all while a piano plays soothing tunes in the background. Chef d' Cuisine Werner Absenger offers up dishes, which include pan fried scallop rosti for an appetizer and herb and salt encrusted lamb chops or togarashi crushed filet mignon for an entree. This elegant dining spot has been awarded the AAA Four Diamond mark of distinction. Cyngus is open from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

1913 Room

The 1913 Room has given fine dining an updated look in Grand Rapids. Its main courses range from roasted Alaskan sablefish to filet of beef au poivre. Diners should be sure to start off what is sure to be one of the most savory dining experiences with Maine Lobster cakes or escargot bourguignoone, and leave room for 1913's wide selection of desserts. Business attire is required. No jeans or denim are permitted. The 1913 Room is open from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
