The 4th arrondissement, or district, in Paris is centrally located, providing easy access to such delights as Notre Dame. This district is also known as the Marais district and is home to much of Paris' gay and Orthodox Jewish populations. It is also one of the oldest sections of Paris. Golfers looking for delightful, boutique hotels will find them in abundance here. You may be disappointed, however, if you hope to play golf in the morning and tour Paris in the afternoon. Most courses are at least an hour from the city, and require a car for easy access, making it a full day devoted to your favorite sport.
Hotel Saint Merry
This hotel once housed a rather well-known brothel. Now it's a lovely hotel with just 12 rooms and is completely updated and remodeled. It's steps away from the Picasso Museum, Notre Dame and the Louvre. The rooms are rather small, so request a suite if you'd like a bit more room. All rooms have a TV and safe, but some don't include air conditioning, so be sure to specify a room with this feature when booking if you're traveling to Paris in the summer. Wi-Fi is available at an additional charge. The hotel is four stories; all floors can be reached by the stairs, as there isn't an elevator on the premises.

Hotel Saint Louis en l'Isle
The Hotel Saint Louis en l'Isle is located in a restored 17th-century townhouse. Its 19 rooms are noted by Frommers.com to be a terrific value given the hotel's ideal location on the Ile St-Louis. All rooms are air-conditioned and include satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The staff members are fluent in English, French and Spanish. Breakfast is not included in the price, but is a large buffet for a reasonable price, 12 euros in November 2009.

A cozy fireplace greets you as you enter the lobby area of this intimate hotel. Golfers seeking to escape to the feel of country manor are likely to find a good bet at Hotel du Lutece. Located on Ile St-Louis in a restored 17th-century townhouse, this hotel is located just steps from Notre Dame and very near the Bastille. With 23 rooms, the hotel is intimate and personal. Rooms are decorated with antiques and are all non-smoking. Rooms are also air-conditioned and include free Wi-Fi, satellite and cable TV. A breakfast buffet was 13 euros in November 2009.
