Boston's Beacon Hill section is a small, secluded neighborhood that sits primarily atop a hill at the city center. Beacon Hill has long been home to luxurious real estate, including posh condominiums and townhouses. With its small roads, high prices and limited geographic space, hotels are scant here. There are a few lodging gems housed in this quaint historic neighborhood, however.
The Charles Street Inn and Milner Hotel
The Charles Street Inn, founded in 1860, boasts a nine antique decorated guest rooms, each named in honor of Beacon Hill residents who have been patrons of the local arts. The inn evokes the flair and aesthetic of Victorian England in juxtaposition to all the requisite modern amenities. The inn's small capacity makes reservations a must--the inn is often booked months in advanced.
Charles Street is also home to the Milner Hotel, another historic inn house that has been in operation continuously since 1877. Both the Milner Hotel and Charles Sreet Inn are walking distance to several Boston destinations like the Theatre District, Boston Common and Boston Public Gardens. The Milner also boasts value pricing in comparison to the districts other hoteliers.
