Thai Restaurants in Las Vegas, Nevada

Thai Restaurants in Las Vegas, Nevada
After spending a morning or afternoon of playing golf on some of the many courses in the Las Vegas area--such as TPC Las Vegas or Desert Pines Golf Club--you might want to head to one of the city's Thai restaurants for a change of pace from the usual American buffets typically found at the resorts.

Lotus of Siam

The Lotus of Siam has more than 120 items on the menu, from appetizers and soups to seafood and noodle dishes. Other than dishes that feature seafood, everything on the menu can be purchased for less than $15 (as of late 2009). For a seafood dish at a lower price, try the Thai style spaghetti, which features shrimp, egg and chicken. The Sua Rong Ha is a great dish for meat lovers as it features grilled steak served in a very spicy sauce. For desert, the fried banana rolls offers a nice contrast between the soft banana interior and the crispy exterior.

Komol Restaurant

Located at the Commercial Center, Komol Restaurant specializes in soups, with more than 20 on the menu. The Tom Yum Wonton Soup is similar to hot and sour soups served at many Asian restaurants but Komol adds a Thai touch by adding ground peanuts. For something with some real spice to it, try the Pud Kee Mao. It combines ground chicken with garlic and very spicy peppers, served over pan-fried noodles. Komol has a special section of its menu devoted to meals for two, which feature an appetizer to share, soup for two and an entree portion for two. These meals range from $26 to $32 (as of late 2009).

Kung Fu Plaza

The menu at Kung Fu Plaza has more than 100 items, but one of the more original is the stuffed chicken wing appetizer. The chicken wing is stuffed with ground chicken meat, glass noodles and mushrooms and is then deep fried. The outside is crisp to the touch, but the inside is similar to a pasta dish. Another specialty is Yai Nuea Saap, which is beef with tomatoes, onions and peppers in a very spicy sauce. The coconut ice cream on the desert menu is prepared fresh at the restaurant. If you are looking for an cheap lunch, for just $6 (as of late 2009) you can order an appetizer and entree from a limited selection on the specials list.
