Situated in the Adirondack Mountains of New York state, Lake Placid is located in Essex County off of the nearby lake that shares its name. The city is most famous as the home of the 1980 Winter Olympics, where the United States hockey team upset the team from the USSR. Today, the city is a popular resort town in both the winter and the summer and provides a number of top golfing opportunities.

The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid is located just off of Main Street on the waterfront, just blocks from the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex. The hotel features 131 rooms over four floors and offers guests an on-site restaurant, 24-hour concierge service, an indoor swimming pool, televisions with DVD players and rooms with hairdryers, irons and safes. The hotel is just one mile from the Craig Wood Golf Course, which features a 40 tee driving range and an 18 hole regulation course that has 6,500 yards of golf, a par of 72, a course rating of 71.2 and a slope rating of 114.

The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort in Lake Placid is a 167 room, five floor structure that offers guests a number of top amenities and accommodations in the heart of Olympic Village. Features include in-room refrigerators and microwaves, an indoor pool, a private beach, private balconies on each room, a racquetball court and complimentary boat use in-season. The hotel is just one mile from the Lake Placid Resort Golf Club, which features a long 7,000 yard, par 71 course that was opened in 1899 and designed by Seymour Dunn. The course has a slope rating of 128 and a course rating of 74.9.
