Carol's Cabins
Though a slightly farther drive into the beautiful Nantahala Forest, a number of online reviews have made Carol's Cabins worth looking at. Located 10 minutes from Western Carolina University at Cullowhee, Carol's Cabins are privately-rented nooks located on the banks of the Tuckasegee River. A very popular spot for hikers, golfers and other outdoor sportsmen, each cabin comes with an individual restroom, kitchen, bedroom and living room, all fully furnished and prepared for over-night stays. Easily the priciest among the local options, Carol's Cabins start at $109 per night during the winter and early summer, and reach $139 during the June and July peak seasons, as of 2009.
