The Outer Banks region, or OBX, is a stretch of islands roughly 200 miles long off the coast of North Carolina. The area is a major tourist destination, mainly due to its excellent weather and expanse of beachfront property. Some of the more notable Outer Banks towns include Kitty Hawk, Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. Ramada Plaza Nags Head
The Ramada is another beachfront hotel that includes rooms with private balconies. Other guest room amenities are free high-speed Internet access, a refrigerator and microwave, television with pay-per-view movies and games and an in-room safe. A beach-friendly resort, guests can order food from the hotel while on the beach during the summer months. Umbrella and lounge chair rentals are also available. The hotel does not have an on-site fitness facility, but a complimentary guest membership is provided to the YMCA, located two miles away. You can golf at Nag Head Golf Links, an 18-hole public course with a par of 71.

The Travelodge is located two miles from the Wright Brothers Memorial and across the highway from the beach. You can enjoy a room with a balcony providing a view of the ocean or venture to the outdoor pool and relax on the sun deck. All rooms are equipped with refrigerators and microwaves for extended stays. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast, and seven restaurants are close by. You can golf at one of five nearby golf courses or you can take the whole family to Paradise Golf which features three 18-hole miniature golf courses.
