Thai

Thai Orchid serves carry-out or dining-room Thai dishes at affordable prices. The location may leave something to be desired, but the food is flavorful and reasonably priced. A meal for one person, with drink, is usually under $10 (2009). Try the Som Tum, a papaya, green bean and peanut salad with a spicy dressing, for a starter and the "chef's creation" asparagus delight, for your entreé, which combines shrimp, calamari and scallops with sauteéd asparagus in a spicy garlic sauce. Try to leave room for a sticky rice dish for dessert. The restaurant offers Thai custard, mango and sweet black bean flavors.
