Maui Night Clubs

By Joshua Duvauchelle

Maui Night Clubs
Maui is the second biggest island in the state of Hawaii. Every year, the island draws thousands of tourists who come for its pristine beaches and vibrant local culture. It is also the site of several award-winning golf courses, including the Kaanapali Golf Courses and the Pukalani Country Club golf course. The fun doesn't stop when the golf game ends. Hit the town for a memorable Hawaiian vacation in one of Maui's several nightclubs.

Timba

Timba is a high-concept nightclub and lounge styled like a rural loft, replete with open ceiling beams. Open from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Wednesdays through Saturdays, you can start the evening with a relaxing cocktail before a live DJ begins spinning the latest Top 40 hits. Separate dance and lounge areas let you mingle at the speed you want. Classic cocktails and well drinks are available. If you're feeling adventurous, try a Hawaii-themed drink. Examples include the Parrot Bay Passion, made with fresh passion fruit, cranberry juice and spicy red peppers.

Moose McGillycuddy's

Moose McGillycuddy's first opened on Maui's west coast in the early 1980s and has grown to be a landmark destination in Maui's nightlife scene. By day, it's a restaurant serving sandwiches and burgers. The evolution starts during its daily happy hour, which kicks in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A DJ takes the stage around 9 p.m., completing the switch to one of Maui's oldest nightclubs with the restaurant's seating areas turned into two dance floors.

The Cellar 744

The industrial-themed Cellar 744 is a hot spot for both club-goers and concert-lovers. The venue attracts live acts, interspersed with live DJs whipping up the latest beats in electronica, dance, hip-hop and Top 40 music. It's popular among both local residents and tourists and attracts a predominantly college-aged crowd.

Casanova Italian Restaurant and Deli

Casonova's reputation as one of Maui's top Italian restaurants may confuse you when you see it late at night. The restaurant switches to a full nightclub every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night after 10. A dance floor and full bar glows under pulsing lights as a local DJ performs, focusing largely on Hawaiian, reggae and Top 40 tracks.
