Cottage Ethiopian Cuisine is located on bustling Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta and serves authentic Ethiopian fare. The relaxed dining atmosphere is accented by Ethiopian decor with a contemporary flair, featuring glass-top tables. The prices are modest, ranging from $10 to $15 in 2009, in keeping with the restaurant's casual atmosphere. Cottage Ethiopian serves lunch and dinner and includes a full bar. A sample of the appetizers includes: sambusa, a homemade pastry shell filled with lentils, onion, green peppers and herbs; the house salad, served with jalapenos, tomatoes and onions; and butcha, made of pureed chick peas with spices and olive oil. Meat dishes include lega tibs, cubes of lean beef; kitfo; and a variety of other beef dishes, as well as lamb and chicken. Vegetarian items include miser wot, made of pureed lentils; gomen, fresh collard greens; and tikile goman, made of cabbage and carrots. Injera, traditional Ethiopian bread, is served with each entree.
