Orlando, Florida is one of the busiest vacation destinations in the world and has a wealth of lodging and recreation options. Visitors will find a variety of golfing opportunities including many courses open to the public and that are often just minutes from the most popular vacation areas.

Hunter's Creek Golf Club

Hunters Creek golf club is open to the public and is within minutes of the Disney area of Orlando. It features an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout that has five sets of tees with the farthest measuring 7,268. There are 13 lakes spread across the course making accurate shots very important. The fairways are spacious with some rolling hills leading to medium-size greens and well placed bunkers. There are pine forests bordering the course giving the illusion that you playing in the Carolinas. Hunter's Creek has a fully-stocked pro shop along with a driving range and practice greens.

Southern Dunes

Southern Dunes is a public 18-hole course that is built on a hillside and features 100 feet elevation changes. It is a par-72 that measures 7,200 yards and plays even longer with all the elevation changes. Southern Dunes is considered one of the best courses in Orlando and has won several awards from Golf Digest. The course layout has long twisted fairways that are very sloped and bordered by tall grasses. There are 180 bunkers spread through the course with some being very deep and having high lips. Overall, the course is very challenging, but is still a lot of fun for the novice golfer. There is a well-stocked pro shop on-site as well as a restaurant and lounge. For practice there is a driving range, putting greens and lessons available.

Celebration Golf Club

Celebration golf club has been described as a park like setting that incorporates old growth pine forest with the natural Florida wetlands. The course is an 18-hole, par-72 that measures 6,772 from the farthest tees. There are five tees in total with the closest making every hole a par-three for a different experience. Fairways are pretty straight at the Celebration and are lined by either tall grass or the pines. Water comes into play on 16 of the holes along with many strategically place bunkers making this course very challenging. Greens are well guarded with bunkers and mall ponds on many of the holes making approach shots very difficult. Celebration has a full-service restaurant and lounge along with fully-stocked pro shop. They also have a practice range, putting greens and lessons available.
