Scottish-Style Golf Courses in Atlanta
Scottish-style golf course, or "links," as they are known, are said to be the original golf-course layout. They are an open format with few trees and little water, but have wide, bumpy fairways lined with pot bunkers and tall grass. Atlanta, Georgia, is home to a large variety of golf courses, including a number of Scottish-style links.

Orchard Hills Golf Club

Orchard Hills Golf Club is a public golf club that has three 9-hole Scottish links--style courses. The club has been awarded the four-star award by "Golf Digest" for being one of Georgia's top public courses. Orchards Hills' three courses all have similar 3,500-yard, par-36 layouts with wide-open, hilly fairways and moguls everywhere. Pot bunkers are spread across the resort, with deep rough lining the fairways, making accurate tee shots a must. There is a fully equipped pro shop on site, as well as a driving range and putting greens. Orchard Hills Golf Club hosts outings and tournaments, offering catered meals and seating for up to 250.

The Links Golf Club

The Links Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70 links-style course that measures 6,800 yards. Its wide, twisty fairways are lined with extremely tall grass and pine forests.The landscape is small rolling hills, making ball landing unpredictable. Greens are of medium size and undulating, guarded by pot bunkers and tall grass. The club has a fully stocked pro shop, driving range and practice greens, along with a restaurant and lounge.

Candler Park Golf Course

Candler Park golf course is a 9-hole Scottish links-style executive course near downtown Atlanta. It is a par-31 layout that measures only 2,064 yards, with mostly flat fairways, featuring many mounds and bumps to make shot placement tough. Since this course is in the city, the out of bounds are close to the edge of the fairways, with buildings in close proximity. Greens are medium-sized with a few pot bunkers guarding them, and a few holes feature tall rough. This is a golf-only facility, with no pro shop. and is walk-only with pull carts available.
