Marion Oaks Country Club
This tree-lined Bermuda grass course has 7,031 yards of smooth fairways. It is a championship course with 18 holes at a par of 72. The slope rating is 130, thanks to a variety of hills. This fairly basic course is suitable for most any golfer, beginner to advanced. If you want to work on your game, ask about individual 45 minute lessons with PGA member Mike Steigerwalt. They are available on the first Saturday of each month. If you want to golf here several times, you can do so for a lower green fee by purchasing play cards in bulk.

Ocala Palms Golf and Country Club
Located inside a gated community, this course is open to the public even though it may not appear to be at first glance. It is a typical 18 hole par 72, but it has some rather uncommon features, including bunkers filled with white sand, startling oak trees and a waterfall at the last hole. The course measures 6,500 yards and is best for the more experienced golfer. Beginners can still get some time in on the putting green or the driving range. They can also take a lesson with resident pro Barry Fies. If you find you can't get enough of this course, you can purchase a retirement home in the community. Then you'll get priority tee times.
