Marriott bought and renovated this Kauai hotel after the damage that was done by Hurricane Iniki. Most rooms feature a balcony view of the ocean or garden and all rooms contain a refrigerator. High-speed Internet service is free inside your room. The outdoor pool surrounds an island decorated with towering palm trees and the hotel also offers a whirlpool and outdoor children's pool. The fitness center is stocked with cardio gear and free weights and for an additional fee you can take daily fitness classes. Two golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus can be found on-site and the biggest hazard may be keeping your eye on your game rather than the amazing scenery that surrounds every hole.

Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation
This Kauai resort is located on the southeast Poipu side of the island and the rooms feature views of the ocean or garden. The first thing you may notice about this resort is the swimming complex that boasts a water slide and a 1,600 gallon whirlpool spa. Located nearby are opportunities for a helicopter tour over the island, snorkeling, sailing, deep sea fishing and visits to the Waimea Canyon. The Kiahuna golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and its most distinguishing characteristics are the archaeological sites from an ancient Hawaiian village that dot the course. There is also a lava tube near the second hole that is famous for its population of blind spiders.

Hotel Coral Reef
An extensive upgrade in 2007 has resulted in a top-quality hotel situated right on the beach. The rooms feature exquisite linens atop sumptuous beds, flat-screen televisions, and an in-room Jacuzzi in the Ocean Front suites. Families can enjoy some extra privacy with the two-bedroom suites that offer separate bedrooms. The renovations resulted in a new pool that is situated right next to the beach. Wailua Golf Course is just down the road.
