New Casinos in Las Vegas

New Casinos in Las Vegas
Even in difficult economic times, new construction is always underway in Las Vegas. Four casinos were opened in 2008 and 2009, three of which have gaming floors covering more than 70,000 square feet. Be sure to ask the concierge desk about golf discounts if you stay at one of these new hotels. Most major casinos have an association with one or more of the local golf courses that entitles guests to reduced greens fees and discounted club rentals.

M Resort

If you have a car on your next Las Vegas golf trip, consider staying at the M Resort, which opened on March 1, 2009. Because it is located on I-15, approximately 12 miles south of McCarran airport, the M can charge less for the same high-end amenities you would find at a luxury resort on the Strip. Each of the standard guest rooms comes complete with marble flooring, executive work areas, pillow-top mattresses, in-mirror televisions in the bathroom and dual sinks. The hotel has a 23,000-square-foot full-service spa that includes a fitness center, steam room and sauna.

Encore

The Encore opened on Dec. 22, 2008 ,as an addition to the Wynn Las Vegas resort complex, a popular destination for golfers because of its onsite 7,042-yard golf course. Each of the Encore's 2,034 all-suite guest rooms features floor-to-ceiling windows to give you a great view of the Strip, complimentary bathrobes and slippers, a separate living area, and a flat-screen TV in the bathroom mirror. After you finish a round of golf, visit one of the 11 retail stores in the Encore's Shopping Esplanade or dine at one of the hotel's five fine restaurants.

This 3,066-room all-suite hotel opened on Jan. 17, 2008. For golfers who like to shop, there are more than 50 stores from all over the world in the Shoppes at Palazzo.
