Pittsburgh's largest and best recognized hotel, the Hilton faces the famed "three rivers" as well as Point State Park. It is also within walking distance of both Heinz Field and PNC Park where the Steelers and Pirates play. Marriott Pittsburgh City Center Hotel

This 402-room Marriott is the "Official Hotel of the Pittsburgh Penguins" and it's only about 18 miles from the airport. Enjoy your spacious room that has a breathtaking view of the city. There is Internet access, cable TV with on-demand movies, bathrobes when you step out of the shower or tub, and a telephone with voicemail.

Work out in the hotel's fully equipped fitness center, have a meal or two at the in-house restaurant, Steelhead, or order a libation at Steelhead Lounge. After your round of golf, take a refreshing swim in the hotel's indoor pool. In fall 2009, rates began at $229 per night.

Omni William Penn Hotel

The Omni William Penn Hotel is considered the grande dame of all hotels in Pittsburgh. It opened its doors almost a century ago and has hosted the likes of JFK and Lawrence Welk. It has also received the designation of Historic Landmark.

The Omni recently underwent a multi-million-dollar effort to restore it to to its original grandeur. And it's located in the center of town near Pittsburgh's sports venues, restaurants, shopping and the city's booming cultural center. If your pet is under 25 pounds, it too is welcome there. Spend as little as $224 per night at fall 2009 prices.
