Being a golfer and not playing in Myrtle Beach is like being a skier and never going to Colorado. This coastal South Carolina town is overflowing with championship caliber golf courses, with more than 80 courses within 20 miles of the city center, including award-winners like Wild Wing, Pine Lakes and Man O'War. On the north end of town, you'll find several nice resorts along with some excellent courses.

Four courses designed by the biggest names in golf, Fazio, Norman, Dye and Love, bring challenge to your game every day while revealing the natural splendor of the area. The resort at Barefoot covers 2,300 acres of pristine coastal land with views overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway. Guests can choose from luxury accommodations and golf and yacht club villas. The lodging ranges in size from one-bedroom to four-bedroom accommodations. Besides golf, the resort has a large outdoor pool, jet ski rentals, a House of Blues and several other restaurants and a spa for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort‎

The Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort‎ is located at the center of the strand of North Myrtle Beach resort hotels and offers clean, comfortable accommodations along the oceanfront. There is no course attached to the hotel, but Robber's Roost and Possum Trot Golf Clubs are both less than a mile away. The resort also offers guests a variety of packages to get them their golf fix any way they want it. At Ocean Drive Resort, accommodations run the gamut--from single-room efficiency units to two-, three- and four-bedroom condos with ocean views. Resort amenities include a beach club, several restaurants, a fitness center and sauna, indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs, a salon and a lazy river.

Bay Watch Resort‎

If you're looking for pure beach time, the Bay Watch Resort offers three skyscraping towers right on the sand in North Myrtle Beach. With its own strand of private white sand beach, one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums with full kitchens, premium cable and the occasional Jacuzzi tub, the resort offers all the comforts of home. Each of the three towers that make up the resort have separate water features along the ocean, including a large swimming pool, lazy river and hot tubs. There's a well-equipped fitness center, game room and a variety of restaurants, including a beach bar.
