New Golf Clubs in San Diego
Located in sunny and beautiful Southern California, San Diego is one of the most famous and populated cities of the American West Coast. The city is known for its popular beaches, sports clubs, downtown entertainment and luxury resort and golf clubs. Among these golf clubs are a number of new ones that have opened since 2000 and provide modernized golfing opportunities in a city with nearly two-dozen courses.

Crosby National Golf Course

The Crosby National Golf Course in San Diego, Calif., is located on Bing Crosby Boulevard in the quiet eastern part of the city. The course was opened in 2001 and designed by ASGCA member Brian Curley. With an 18-hole regulation golf course and an 80-tee driving range, the club features a Bermuda grass course with with a par of 70 and a distance of 6,800 yards. The slope rating at the course is 133, and the course rating is 70. Features at the club include a bar, restaurant and banquet center, as well as an onsite bowling alley.

The Grand Golf Club

The Grand Golf Club in San Diego, which is located between the Ted Williams Freeway and the I-5 San Diego Freeway in the heart of the city, was opened in 2000. The course features a design from famous course designer and ASGCA member Thomas Fazio and is a long par 72 course of 7,200 yards. The club offers guests a 50-tee driving range and an onsite bar. The slope of the course is 134, and the course rating is 72.3. With sloped greens and various changes in elevation across the course's fairways, the layout provides a challenge for high handicappers.

The Santaluz Club

The Santaluz Club golf course in San Diego is located off of Camina del Sur in the northern part of the city. Opened in 2003, the course is a 7,100-yard, par-72 layout that was designed by Rees Jones of the ASGCA. It features Bermuda grass fairways, a slope rating of 135 and a course rating of 74.1. With a full driving range facility on site, this private equity course offers guests a grill and restaurant, a full bar and a playing experience within full view of the scenic countryside.
