Breakfast Restaurants in Lakewood Ranch, Florida
You're heading to Lakewood Ranch to play at Legacy Golf Club or one of the other premier courses in the area. But first make sure you fortify yourself with a hearty, delicious breakfast at a top restaurant. You'll find the usual eggs and toast---plus a variety of specialty items such as deep-dish quiche and fruit-and-nut pancakes.

The Serving Spoon

The house specials are so tempting at The Serving Spoon it's hard to know which to choose. Try the B.E.S.T. Sandwich (grilled bacon, eggs, Swiss cheese and tomato); Craig's Favorite (scrambled eggs with spinach, cream cheese and ground beef); or Uncle Chuck's Sausage Gravy with buttermilk biscuits.

Order the omelet with sauteed veggies and cheese, or create your own omelet with your favorite ingredients. Other choices include the Belgian waffle served with sausage and fruit; the large whole-wheat pancake filled with wheat germ and bananas; or the sampler plate with a small pancake, eggs and bacon or sausage.

The Broken Egg

The Broken Egg is a cheerful cafe with delicious breakfasts. The hearty fare includes deep-dish quiches, corned-beef hash, croissant sandwiches with eggs and smoked ham, and eggs poached over hash browns and topped with Swiss and cheddar cheese.

Try the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chives, or the breakfast burrito with eggs and veggies in a garlic tortilla. The eggs benedict are crowd pleasers, too---plain or with crab cakes or portobello mushrooms. And then there are treats from the griddle such as the buttermilk pancakes, and the French toast made of croissant or banana-nut bread.

First Watch

First Watch is a small chain of restaurants featuring creative breakfast menus. Try the Crepeggs---thin crepes with whipped eggs and turkey, avocado and bacon, or turkey, mushrooms and spinach. The omelets are fun, too, including bacon, avocado and cheese; chorizo sausage and green chilies; and spicy chicken breast with onions.

You'll want to taste the pancakes, too, containing bananas and granola, chocolate chips, blueberries, or cranberries and nuts. A lot of patrons love the Belgian waffles served with blueberry compote, and the French toast made with sourdough or raisin bread.
