Cog Hill was once the annual site of the Western Open and now hosts the BMW championship in rotation. Dubsdread, the premier course among four at the club, has a well-deserved reputation as one of the toughest in America. Bear in mind that, while Cog Hill has never been exclusive, it can be expensive--at least by Chicago golf standards. Expect to pay well over $150 per person.

The Finest Dining
For two decades, Charlie Trotter's has been serving some of Chicago's finest and most expensive meals. In that time, it has been called the best restaurant in the world by "Wine Spectator" magazine and received accolades from restaurant critics from "Esquire," "Gourmet" and many other magazines. It was also called the best place to eat in America by "Golf Connoisseur" magazine. Call well in advance (think months, not weeks) for reservations.

Front Row at Wrigley
Nothing symbolizes "Chicago" like a trip to Wrigley Field. Nothing says expensive like the best seats in the park. You don't have to turn to a scalper to get those prized seats, however. It turns out the Cubs organization itself will gladly sell them to you. The team's owners also own Wrigley Field Premium Ticket Services, where sports fans can purchase close to the action, impossible to get otherwise seats at many times face value.
