Dick Schnedl, an Architect, has pursued his profession for the past forty-five years. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University School Of Design. In 1984, he resigned his partnership from a large design-oriented firm as Head-of-Design, working on numerous multi-million dollar projects. The past twelve years of his career have been spent designing only projects he thoroughly enjoys, residential architecture, requiring all facets of design and expertise. Dick's extensive background has naturally lead to creative design, but on a much smaller scale; a collection of lamps.

His collection of lamps is called "Interpretations", based on his interpretation of design elements and attention to detail used by Frank LLoyd Wright, the most familiar and renowned architect of the 20th century. Wright's sensitivity to scale and proportion, the main ingredients of any successful design, are modeled in this collection of lamps. Dick's fondness for lamps comes from creating shades reminiscent of residential roof shapes that he has used. "A Lamp shade, as is the roof of a house, is one of the most important and strongest elements of successful lamp design".
