Thank you for your interest in the Jim McLean Golf School at La Quinta Resort & Club. Our mission statement is "To be first-class in every respect, to make our students aware that we care, and to see that they have success in learning about golf!" Publications like U. S. World and News Report, CNN, Travel and Leisure Magazine have ranked us the # 1 golf school in America. Our commitment to be the best is guided by three main elements.

First, in order to have the best school you need a great facility. At La Quinta we believe our venue is second to none. The weather here in the fall and winter is spectacular. The town of La Quinta is one of the fasting growing communities in America. Our range sits against the Santa Rosa Mountains so the ball flight is crystal clear. Our computerized teaching system is state of the art. This computer technology allows all levels of golfers to have their swings assessed to pinpoint the slightest adjustments needed. We are located between two top rated Pete Dye designed courses on the grounds of a world famous resort and spa.

Second of all, to be the best you need to have the best teachers. I am often asked the question "what makes your school different then other golf schools?" One thing is that we employ a system of learning not a specific method or technique. We study the great players of past and present and glean fundamentals common to them all. No two players are exactly alike. A method school by contrast teaches all students one technique. Our system takes into account each individual and what will work best for that student. This requires teachers with experience and knowledge to find students' particular strengths and build upon them taking into account the fundamentals of the game. All our teachers are highly trained full time instructors and are quite simply the best in the business.

Our third element is what we call the bottom line. Simply put, do you improve and have fun at the school. As instructors this is our paramount element. To further this goal we use Jim's proprietary 8-Step Swingsm Teaching System, which has been tried and proven for success.

I am convinced a visit to our school will be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Jim has had 9 former instructors become top 100 teachers. His system developed over years of instruction has helped people of all skill levels build consistent repeatable swings. The key to better golf is to understand the games' essential components, and to use them to continually improve. It is very important students leave the school with a specific plan for constructive practice.

I have traveled all over the world teaching golf and I believe our facility is the best learning environment I have ever seen. I would like to thank all of the students who have attended our school over the years and extend our warmest welcome to return. If you haven't been here I hope you will come and see why Jim calls this "the most beautiful range in the world.
