Steve Johnson - Director

In 1988, Steve came to work with Hank Haney at Stonebridge Country Club in McKinney. After three years of building his teaching reputation there, Steve went on to join Hank in establishing the Hank Haney Golf Ranch. Steve has been instrumental in the evolution of the Hank Haney Golf teaching programs Over the past eleven years, Steve has worked with players of all levels, including PGA Tour Professionals. Most recently, Steve was honored by his peers as the 1998 Northern Texas PGA Teacher of the Year.

Suckki Jang - Director

Suckki's education includes: Military Science in Korea; Computer Science at Harper College; Computer information system and education at Cameron University; Facility of physical education at University of Cameron and Learned from Haney Haney directly.

His experiences includes teaching 3 golf classes, beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes since 1984; "The Best Techniques in 21 Century"; "The swing Connection Bible"; "On Plane Golf Swing"; "Mighty Putting"; "Mighty Chip Shot"; "Amazing Low Pitch"; "Amazing Standard Pitch"; "Amazing High Pitch";"Amazing Bunker Shots" Hank Haney with Suckki Jang.

Suckki has also written extensively, with columns that include: "On Plane Golf Swing"; The Korea Daily at Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Hawaii; Alba 21 Golf Magazine.

Mark Moore - Director

Mark has worked exclusively on his game and teaching with Hank Haney's staff since 1990. He was an instructor for the SMU-NIKE Junior Golf Camp at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch from 1993-1996. In 1998, he joined the teaching staff at Hank Haney Golf Center at CityPlace as a Teaching Assistant and in 2002 he moved to Hank's Austin facility as a Head Instructor and was named Head Professional at Vista Ridge in November 2004. Mark also competed professionally on various mini-tours from 1995-1997.

Spencer Ebeler - Head Instructor II

In 2000, Spencer began teaching for Hank Haney as a Head Instructor. He has been instrumental in teaching our golf programs and juniors. Spencer is the Special Events Coordinator and Director of Junior Golf. He has instructed a diverse group of golfers and enjoys teaching players of all levels.

Brian Mahon - Director

Brian has taught with Hank since 1994. He is the Senior Professional at Hank Haney Golf Center at Cityplace, a position he has held for three years. Brian was Team Captain and an All-American at UCLA in the early-mid 1980's. He played professionally on various tours around the world from 1986-1993. Brian counts Duffy Waldorf and Oklahoma State, All American Edward Loar, as his students.

Doug Alexander - Senior Instructor

Doug's background with Hank Haney and his staff dates back over 10 years. While Alexander was playing various Professional Tours, Hank Haney and Steve Johnson (Senior Professional, Hank Haney Golf Ranch) were his instructors. Doug's teaching career started in 1988. For the next eight years he taught with two nationally known Golf Schools (Ben Sutton Golf Schools, and Mt. Snow Golf Schools) as well as being the Teaching Professional at Elyria Country Club in Ohio. He joined our staff in September, 2000 as a Head Instructor.

Don Luntey - Senior Instructor

Don was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado. His passion for teaching golf started as a caddy and he has over 40 years of experience playing and helping the everyday golfer improve their ability to score better scores on the golf course. He spent the past 30 years as an executive and manager in the financial services industry having recently left Microsoft Corporation, where he was the company golf champion in 1999. Don joined our staff as a Head Instructor in February 2001.

David Ondocsin - Teaching Assistant

David joined the Hank Haney CityPlace Teaching Staff as a Teaching Assistant in April of 2004. Although he just recently began teaching at CityPlace, David has studied Hank's philosophy on the golf swing since 1996, when he was a student of Tim Cusick. He is a 2003 graduate of Southern Methodist University, with a degree in Business Administration. David is heavily involved with our Beginner and Junior Programs as well as teaching golfers of all abilities.

Luke Looney - Teaching Assistant

Luke joined the Cityplace Teaching Staff January of 2004 as a Teaching Assistant. His training in the Haney philosophy started when he was 16 under the direction of Steve Johnson. He is a 1995 graduate of Dennison High School in Dennison, Texas where he was a member of the golf team his junior and senior year. Luke played golf in college for two years at Navarro College in 1996 and 1997. He has played an intregal part in the junior programs at both Cityplace and the Hank Haney Golf Ranch.

Chris Winton - Senior Instructor

Chris is a 2000 graduate of New Mexico State University, majoring in Professional Golf Management. He was a member of the Men's Golf Team under coach Larry Beem. The summers of 1998,1999 and 2000 Chris was an instructor for the Nike Junior Golf Camps in Las Cruces, New Mexico and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chris stays active playing professional tournaments in the Northern Texas PGA Section as well on the Tight Lies Tour. He was a member of the victorious 2004 Jordan Cup Team for the Northern Texas PGA Assistant Professionals. He continues to work on his game with Hank Haney and Director of Instruction Tim Cusick. Chris became a member of the PGA of America in 2004. He joined the Hank Haney teaching staff as a Head Instructor in June of 2004.

Tracy Free - Head Instructor II

Tracy Free has more than 10 years experience under the Hank Haney staff. This includes lessons as well as instruction with the Hank Haney staff. Tracy received All-South West Conference honors all four years of her collegiate eligibility at Texas Tech University. During that time, she won medallist in four collegiate tournaments. Tracy also has two years of professional mini-tour experience on the Futures Tour.

Simon Fagan - Head Instructor II

Simon was born on August 29, 1973 in Stephenville, Texas. He grew up in Austin, Texas and began his golf career as a part time caddy at the Austin Golf Club. He played mini tour events while working in the real estate business and at AGC. He joined the Hank Haney team in 2002 and began his full time teaching career shortly thereafter. Starting as a teaching assistant he taught Jr. clinics and Beginner programs as well as private lessons. Simon taught University of Texas beginner and intermediate classes on site during this time, and has been an instructor for ESPN Golf Schools. Simon relocated to the McKinney location in May of 2005 and has continued to teach students of all ages and skill levels. His passion for the game continues to grow and he enjoys helping his students develop a golf swing that is on plane while becoming better all around players.

Monte Mahan - Head Instructor I

Monte joined the Hank Haney Golf Ranch as a Teaching Assistant in October of 2000. His teaching began in 1988 when Monte was a High School Golf Coach as well as a Teaching Professional in Southern California. One of Monte's prize students is his son Hunter, who was the #1 ranked Junior Golfer in the United States in 1999. He has started "Path to Develop Future Champions," which is a program to help junior golfers become champions in college and the amateur ranks. Monte works with nationally ranked junior, amateur and college players as well as the everyday average golfer.
