Las Vegas is one of the world's great tourist destinations, attracting more than 39 million visitors per year. The city's overwhelming selection of casinos, nightclubs, stage shows, restaurants—-on and off the strip—attracts conventions, business outings, bachelor parties and vacationers from around the globe. The greater Las Vegas region is also one of the world's great golfing destinations, with more than 55 courses in the region. As with the other attractions here, the courses range from spartan and economical to fancy and expensive.
Step 2
Vegas deals in volume. Sticker prices skew high, but discounts abound. There is no reason to pay top dollar to golf there. Travel agencies and online brokers offer a huge assortment of packages featuring lower-cost golfing. Many individual courses offer specials and price breaks. Numerous brokers, such as their website Standbygolf (see Resources below), specialize in locating golf discounts at the various courses—-including some available at the last minute.

Step 3
Step 1: Decide when or where you want to play. If you plan well ahead, you should have a better chance to secure discounts at your desired course, date and time.
Step 4
Step 2: Consider playing in off-peak periods. If you are able enough to play desert courses in the summer, you can usually book rates for a fraction of the winter rates. If you are willing to take tee times before 8 a.m., you can find nice deals at some of the most popular courses. Funny thing about Vegas: People stay out late. You can also find a lot of deals in the late afternoon.
Step 5
Step 3: Decide where you want to stay. You can stay on the strip and still find discounts—through your hotel, the individual course or an independent broker—to play at the outlying courses. You can stay at off-strip hotels, vacation rentals or resorts. Consider package deals including hotels, vacation rentals and resorts.
Step 6
Step 4: Surf official course websites for specials and bargains. You can actually get some good deals by working directly with the courses. Course operators fill open slots via Internet booking to keep their facility rolling at maximum capacity. Golfers often overlook this option.
Step 1
If you maintain some flexibility in your schedule, you can find bargains you weren't counting on.
Step 1
The average high temperature in Las Vegas from June through August tops 100 degrees. Take safety precautions when playing during midday hours in the summer. Drink lots of water.
