By Clint Hale
Las Vegas, with its gambling, golf, food and shows, is a tourist hot spot. The world-famous Strip, in particular, plays home to a number of renown hotels and shows. Fortunately, for those looking to seize a cheap hotel on the Strip, there are numerous avenues one can travel to score a deal.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Surf the Web. Websites such as LasVegasDirect.com and CheapoVegas.com specialize in locating the best deals on Vegas-related travel, including Strip hotels. Also check travel sites such as Expedia.com and Orbitz.com for cheap hotel rates.
Get on hotel mailing lists. Locate hotels in which you would like to stay, visit their respective websites, and get on their email lists. You'll receive emails on special packages and discounts, including peak-season deals for major events like fights, Super Bowl weekend, and the NCAA basketball tournament.
Hire a travel agent. These professionals specialize in locating the best travel deals, including hotels on the Vegas strip. While you'll pay more up front for their services, it's quite possible you will save more on the back end, due to scoring the cheapest Strip hotel rate possible. Consult the yellow pages for information on travel agents in your area.
Check your rewards programs. Rewards programs for credit cards (both personal and business), travel clubs, and car services such as AAA often entitle participants to deals on travel packages, including hotels on the Vegas strip. Check with any rewards programs in which you're already a member, and check with other programs you may be interested in joining, on the possibility of a cheap Strip hotel.
