How to Buy Airline Tickets Online
If you need to buy an airline ticket to get to a golf destination, there is no need to go to the airport or even to pick up the phone. You can buy tickets for most airlines online in just a few minutes' time. You can either book with an airline directly or make reservations through an online travel site. It's a good idea to pursue both options and see which one gets you a better ticket price before deciding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Go to an online travel site. According to the website TopTenReviews, the three best as of 2009 are Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz. Once you've arrived at the home page, look for a tab labeled "Flights" and click on it.
Step 2
Select either round-trip or one-way fare by clicking on the appropriate button. Then type the city you're leaving from and the city you're traveling to in the appropriate boxes. Type in your departure date and return date (if applicable) and the number of people traveling with you. Click on "Search Flights" or "Find a Flight."
Step 3
Review the list of flights and choose the one that works best for your golf vacation. Note the date, time and flight number. Click on "Continue" to buy your tickets through the travel site if you are not a member of the site. If you are a member, type in your username and password and click on "Log In and Continue." Get out your credit card and proceed to Step 5. Proceed to Step 4 to book through the airline directly.
Step 4
Go to the airline's official website. Click on the "Flights" tab. Fill in your travel information, just like you did in Step 2. Click the radial buttons next to the flights you would like to take.
Step 5
Type in the passenger information and your credit card information. Click "Continue." Print out your flight confirmation. Take it to the airport with you on the day of your flight.

Tips & Warnings

Online travel sites usually charge booking fees. You could save some money on your golf vacation by going through the airline directly. Call the airline after you book your flight if you have any special requests, such as dietary restrictions. Compare the price of a round-trip ticket even if you need a one-way flight. It could be the cheaper option even if you simply discard the second ticket.
