How to Attend Nationwide Tour Golf Events
By James Roland
Want to catch a future PGA star before the endorsements and big galleries put him out of reach of the common golf fan? Think about spending a weekend at one of the regional or developmental tours such as the Nationwide Tour. Primarily centered in Southern states, the Nationwide usually starts every season with a few overseas tournaments before making the rounds in the Southeastern United States. Tickets can start at around $25 per day, which can make for a fun and relatively inexpensive day on the links.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Go to the Nationwide Tour website and find a list of tournaments. It includes links to the individual tournaments, which allow you to buy tickets.
The Nationwide schedule runs from February through October, with tournaments almost every weekend.
The website also has news of the Nationwide Tour, including player updates, tournament results and more.
Like other professional golf tournaments, Nationwide Tour events follow the same Thursday to Sunday schedule, so if you want to book your vacation around the event, you know ahead of time what your time commitment will be on the day or days you want to see some golf.
Research what other attractions are in the areas hosting the tournaments so you and your family and/or friends can enjoy some other tourist stuff during your stay.
When you email or call the individual tournaments for ticket information, ask about deals at local hotels. You might be able to catch a special pricing break.
