How to Pack Bags

How to Pack Bags
Packing for a golf vacation can be a daunting task. Once you decide which clothing and accessories you'll need, you have to get them into the fewest number of travel bags possible. Many airlines will charge you extra for flying with two checked pieces of luggage plus golf clubs. If you can get away with only packing a single bag for your trip, then you will save money---and the hassle of schlepping more bags than you can carry.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Make a packing list of every item you'd like to take. Then cross off anything that is not essential. Most travelers take far too many clothing items with them.
Step 2
Set all clothing and other materials on your bed before you pack your bag. You will need to choose an item to act as your "core" object for bundle-wrapping your clothes. A core object could be a pair of golf shoes or another solid object that is a similar size and sturdy enough to wrap your clothing around to avoid wrinkles. If your golf shoes are dirty, you can wrap them in a plastic grocery bag to avoid soiling your clothes.
Step 3
Put your socks inside of your golf shoes. You should be able to fit two to four pairs of socks inside of your shoes before wrapping the shoes in a grocery bag (if required). This will help you save space in your bag.
Step 4
Layer your clothes starting with the larger items. If you are taking a suit jacket, the jacket would be set down first, followed by pants or skirts, then long-sleeve shirts, and so forth---place smaller clothing items on top of larger ones, with shorts being the last piece placed on the clothing pile. Place the core object on top. Wrap the clothing bundle around the core and set it in your suitcase.
Step 5
If your bag has tie-down straps, use them to secure the clothing bundle. If you have excess smaller items, such as undergarments, socks or bathing suits, consider fitting them into open space in your golf bag or carry-on luggage.
