How to Get Cheap Flights to Las Vegas
"Vegas, baby, Vegas!" It's a popular mantra these days, as Las Vegas has quickly become one of our nation's most popular tourist definitions. Thanks to plenty of food, nightlife, gambling and golf, Vegas is one of the more sought-after vacation packages going. Fortunately, there are various ways to ensure you get the cheapest flight possible to and from a Vegas vacation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step 1
Scour "cheap-themed" Internet sites. Websites like LastMinuteTravel.com, CheapFlights.com and CheapoAir.com specialize in securing deals (particularly last-minute) on flights and vacation packages. Auction-type websites such as eBay and Craigslist may also come in handy in such a search, as people often place tickets on those sites at discounted rates.
Step 2
Consult a city's smaller airports. If you're fortunate enough to have more than one airport in your city, consult with the smallest in town. These airports, with lower overhead and trying to drum up business, may offer cheaper prices on flights to locales like Vegas.
Step 3
Book well in advance, or at the last minute. Airlines, eager to begin filling up their flights, often offer discounts to those who book well in advance. Meanwhile, those same airlines -- hoping to sell out the last remaining seats -- will often lower the rate at the last minute in the hopes of selling out. Check out individual airlines and online travel sites for the latest deals.
Step 4
Book a red-eye flight. Many people are weary of the dreaded overnight flight to places like Vegas, so much so that they'll avoid booking such a flight. Their loss can be others' gain, as deals are often offered on red-eye flights. Plus, Vegas never really closes anyway, so when you arrive doesn't make a ton of different in terms of a fun quotient. Plus, a night on the red-eye leaves an entire day of golfing at your disposal.
Step 5
Book on non-major days. While flights on weekends and holidays are often quite popular, flights on non-holiday weekdays are often discounted in comparison. For instance, a flight on a Tuesday non-holiday afternoon is likely to be cheaper than a Saturday morning flights, or a flight on Christmas Eve or the day before Thanksgiving. Consult individual airlines for rates on weekday flights. Plus, arriving in Vegas on a weekday might grant you cheaper green fees at local golf courses, in comparison to "prime time" weekend rates.
