What to Wear on a Cruise to the Bahamas
By Isaiah David
The biggest mistake that tourists make on Bahamas cruises is packing nothing but poolside clothing. Even in the tropics, the sun does go down at night and the temperature does drop. Be prepared for any weather you might encounter and you will have an enjoyable Bahamas vacation.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Bring tropical attire. A Bahamas cruise will give you plenty of quality time in the sun, so you will want to pack accordingly. Take bathing suits, shorts, a sun hat, light pants, comfortable t-shirts, sandals and anything else you enjoy wearing in good weather. Bring a couple pairs of jeans, walking shoes and some light overshirts as well for cool or breezy days.
Bring seasonal attire if you are cruising during the winter months. Take a few sweatshirts and sweaters, a light jacket and a raincoat and warm socks. If you are prone to getting cold easily, bring a warm hat and at least one set of thermal underwear for chilly days.
Check your cruise line's website for dining room dress codes and bring appropriate attire. Generally, you will be required to dress a little nicer when eating in the dining room than when lounging on deck. Bring nice shoes, khaki pants and a light dress shirt or a sun dress. Some cruises may have different dress codes for different dining rooms, which is why it is important to check.
Bring a small backpack. This will allow you to take a camera, water, snacks and a warm shirt with you when you go ashore.
