How to Book Airline Tickets Online
By Jackson Lewis
As internet business has matured, the major airlines now encourage you to purchase your tickets online. The airline saves by having an automated ticket broker or its own automated website book your ticket. Although you don't have the same access to ask questions as with a travel agent, most airlines provide answers to frequently asked questions on their websites. You can also use online travel agents to buy combined vacation packages for your golf trips or holiday trips that save you money over separately arranging plane tickets, hotels and rental cars.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Decide where you are going to travel for your golf trip or vacation. Popular destinations are Florida, California, Hawaii and the United Kingdom.
Register for an account on Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, or other online travel agents. Each online travel agent will offer different package deals for golf and spa vacation packages. Expedia offers a number of combined packages that will also let you book tee times at the partner golf courses offered through its travel packages.
Choose the reservation combination you want. You can choose a flight only, or any combination of flight, hotel, and rental car. Then, pick your desired departure and return dates with the preferred time of day to fly and choose the equivalent "search" menu button on the website.
View the displayed results for combined travel package deals. Expedia displays discounts for booking your flight, hotel, and rental car in one package compared to the rates for separate bookings. Change flight, hotel, or car rental information by selecting the "change flight" or "change hotel" menu option. Once you are satisfied with your selections, pick the "Save and Continue" menu choice.
View your confirmed travel plans and select the "Continue to Booking" menu choice. Expedia then will display discounted area coupons for things to do when you aren't golfing or at your hotel. Select options you'd like to add, then choose the "continue" menu option.
Log in to the travel agent's website if you already have established an account for its services. If not, you will be directed to create an account before finalizing your purchase. Ticket and travel confirmations will be e-mailed to you.
