Make sure your did not leave the lights turned on for an extended time. If you did, the cart's batteries will require recharging.
Put on your acid-resistant work gloves.
Twist the golf-cart battery connections clockwise and counterclockwise beside the battery terminals on each battery and try to start the cart. If your cart runs or is close to starting, wipe the batteries down with a rag and attempt to restart it. If the connections appear corroded, replace the battery cables to avoid further problems.
Inspect the ignition wire for a solid connection. The wire can be found by tracing the golf-cart key assembly and tracing the wire to the cart's starter. The ignition wire will plug into the solenoid and could have been dislodged the last time you played a round. If it is loose, plug the cable into the starter.
Make sure your cart's transmission is in Park. Some golf carts are known not to start if the transmission cable is dislodged.
