Trip Packing Tips

Trip Packing Tips
Packing for a golf trip can be a challenging undertaking. On the one hand, you want to be sure that you have the right clothing in the right quantities. On the other hand, you don't want to be so bogged down with luggage that it becomes a burden. With a little planning, you can be sure you are packing all you need to have a fun vacation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Pack exactly four golf shirts. This should provide you with enough shirts without overloading your suitcase. If your trip lasts only a weekend, you will have a spare or two in case of emergencies or bad weather. If your trip is longer, you can have them laundered as needed.
Step 2
Take a golf travel bag for all of your golf equipment. A good bag will have room for clubs, shoes, towels, balls, rain gear, and tees. A bag that comes with a hard shell may provide extra protection for your clubs, but it can also be more difficult to carry and store. Your bag should be collapsible when empty so it can go with you as you drive from course to course.
Step 3
Bring along two pairs of golf shoes. They should both be waterproof in case you run into bad weather on the golf course. Having an extra pair will help your feet stay comfortable and dry when playing for an extended period of time. It can also be helpful to have different types of spikes such as metal and plastic to meet course rules and to be prepared for a variety of playing surfaces.
Step 4
Layer your clothing for warmth by bringing along two undershirts. You can never predict the exact weather conditions you will be playing in, so layering your shirts can help you adjust to changes in temperature. Non-cotton undershirts, such as those made of a blend of polyester and spandex, will help you stay drier in hot weather, which will also help prolong the life of your golf shirts.
Step 5
Bring two pairs of long pants and two pairs of shorts for the golf course. Using the same thought process that applies to golf shirts, you will have enough for your trip no matter how long it is. You will also be prepared for changes in weather conditions and for playing at different times of the day.
