How to Eat Cheap in Las Vegas
By Bill Herrfeldt
Las Vegas, while noted for its glitz and high rollers, can be enjoyed even if you're on a tight budget. When it comes to eating, you need to do some research to find places that are a bargain. There's a lot of satisfaction in finding places in Sin City that will satisfy your hunger and won't cost you an arm and a leg while doing so. In Las Vegas, you have a lot of inexpensive choices such as all-you-can eat buffets, delicatessens, regular restaurants with table service and even places that are hopping late at night.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Chow down at many of the city's buffets. Many of the better ones are off the so-called "Strip," so you'll probably have to take a cab or car. Most casinos, on the strip and off, have buffets that come in under $20 a person; prices can go up in the late afternoon, so have an earlier dinner and get the better price for the same food.
Grab a quick sandwich at a local delicatessen at one of the casinos. For about $6, you can usually get a delicious sandwich at the delis. Also, join the casinos players' clubs to get special coupons for meal deals. You don't even have to gamble if that's not your thing, but you can get the deals on cheap eats.
Have a cheap but tasty meal at one of the large batch of local restaurants. Research websites and reviews ahead of your trip to find out what others have discovered. There are a lot of websites, blogs and forums about Vegas, and their are tons of recommendations of where the best deals in town are.
Look at your watch and it says midnight and you haven't eaten yet. Don't despair; it's Las Vegas and there are a slew of places open all night, and they are cheap.
Tips & Warnings
You also can buy your own food for the in-between meals if you are staying in a hotel room with a refrigerator.
