How To Dress In Layers for Golf
Many golfers would rather freeze than experience the swing-restricting effects caused by wearing too many layers. However, an enjoyable round can be had in any weather when applying the proper layering techniques. The following article details an easy to follow layering method and brands that offer such styles.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Wear an under layer that will act like your second skin without restricting your swing. Under Armour offers a bevy of tight yet breathable options that act as a base layer.
Step 2
Choose a tight-knit golf appropriate shirt to layer on top (a long-sleeved, collared polo is optimal because it's warm and adheres to the golf dress code). Adidas, Nike and Ashworth are known for the quality of their knit products.
Step 3
Slip on a mock-neck-style fleece sweater or vest. You'll appreciate the warmth the fleece provides your neck, especially during windy conditions.
Step 4
Top off the layers with either a windbreaker or waterproof jacket, depending on weather expectations. The top layer is usually fairly light and acts as an immediate guard against inclement weather. Sun Ice is a well-known brand that offers a multitude of outerwear options.
Step 5
Remove layers as the weather heats up and replace them as temperatures fluctuate.

Tips & Warnings

You can never be too prepared for inclement weather. Pack additional rain pants and gear in case an article tears. Although appropriate gear can aid in lengthening your golf experience under poor weather conditions, heed course warnings and recommendations on the day of play.
