Travel Specifics

Pinehurst Resort is located in the southern Sandhills of North Carolina, sixty-five miles south of Raleigh. Pinehurst is just over an hour by car from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. You can fly directly into Moore County Regional Airport or the Southern Pines Airport. Otherwise fly to Greensboro (eighty miles northwest) and rent a car to avoid traffic around Raleigh and Charlotte.

Centrally located in North Carolina, the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area enjoys easy access by auto from Interstates 95, 85, 40, and 73/74 (partially completed), and has direct access to US 1, US 15-501, NC 2, NC 5 and NC 211. Area airports within 100 miles include Fayetteville, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro, and Charlotte. Our nearby Moore County Airport can handle private aircraft up to BAC III. Finally, by train, AMTRAK provides daily service directly to and from the area.

The closest airport is the Moore County Regional Airport, about 10 minutes from the resort. Major regional airports include the Fayetteville, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro and Charlotte airports. Amtrak offers daily service to downtown Southern Pines, about 15 minutes from the Pinehurst.

U.S. 1 runs north and south through Southern Pines; N.C. 211 runs east and west; U.S. 15/501 reaches Pinehurst from the north; and there's direct area access to I-95, I-85, and I-40. You really need a car to get around this entire area.

Raleigh/Durham is the nearest commercial airport. Moore County has a small private airport with a 5,500-foot runway. If you are flying in yourself, call for ramp-space reservations.
