Puerto Vallarta Golf Vacations
Situated on a strip of white sandy beaches in Mexico's largest natural bay, Puerto Vallarta lies within 100 miles of coastline ringed with mountains. This exciting city offers outdoor recreation that is limitless. Every imaginable water sport is available along Puerto Vallarta's shoreline. Puerto Vallarta delivers round-the-clock activity, sophisticated amenities and a romantic natural setting. The city maintains much of the Old Mexico flair and is graced with lovely architecture, cobblestone streets and white stucco buildings, crowned by flower covered balconies and red tile roofs.
By day visit the bustling beaches of Las Ánimas and Mismaloya, scour the hidden
coves for treasure then sit and relax under the shade of a palm tree. Go horseback
riding in the jungle or take a boat ride to the fishing village of Yelapa. Watch
the flaming sunset on the Bahía de Banderas, as the lights of the city shine across
one of the most beautiful bays on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. In the evening, stroll
along the downtown esplanade and listen to the waves lap the shore while your
feet will want to dance to the music in the air.
John Huston filmed "Night of the Iguana" in Puerto Vallarta in the 1960's and
created an allure that still captures the world's imagination for style, sophistication
and the beginnings of Puerto Vallarta's nightlife. His statue is on Isla Cuale
and visitors come to see where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton built houses
across from each other with a catwalk between them. Take a "Gringo Gulch"
tour and you can see the houses Liz and Dick built.
Local crafts include Huchai Indian embroidery, blown glass and pottery, they are all on display at the municipal market just north of the Rio Cuale and it is definitely worth a visit. Then tour the Galería Vallarta and explore the shops selling art and artisans' works.
