Andrews County Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation public course that is managed by a PGA-certified pro. It’s an upscale public course with plenty to offer. Don’t get it confused with the Andrews Country Club building just down that road - that’s a separate facility. The golf course is situated in between a major highway and a subdivision. You’ll find trees on this course, which is something different for West Texas! There’s 3 tees on this course. Most of the holes are around 275 yards from the blue tee. The longest hole is #7 at 430 yards. Watch out for Hole #6 (334 yards, blue tee) since it doglegs sharply to the right. This course is very well-maintained. It’s challenging and fun, but not over the top in difficulty. The greens are in especially good condition and play true. This is a great course for golfers of all skill levels. It’s a popular spot for local golf tournaments as well. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Overall, the atmosphere at this course is relaxed yet fun. You'll be challenged, but not to the point where you get very frustrated. This course has a good balance between Par 3,4 and 5 holes, which makes for an enjoyable round. The only problem I have with this course is that the pace of play can be extremely slow at times. Even though they only officially allow groups of 5, people get around this rule by renting 4 carts and playing as a 6 or 8-some. On the occasion where I got stuck behind a large group, the round took nearly 6 hours. Overall, this is a very well-maintained and hospitable golf course. The owners have done a good job keeping the course up-to-date, given that it is over 60 years old. This is a great spot for your regular weekly (or more frequent) round of golf.
