I enjoyed the course a lot because of the scenery and greens, which were superb, but my profanity was directed at the second cut, which was way too high! Just a foot out of the fairway and your ball is sunk. You'll find a lot of balls, but they may or may not be yours. Too many holes also had unreasonably narrow fairways, imho. Only a couple of holes had normal landing areas. A little inaccuracy off the tees and you'd better have plenty of balls. There were also plenty of long second shots, thus the trouble with a long second cut again. They don't have a driving range and food options are very limited, but the beer is cold! I played several times while in Brookings for a month and met a lot of super nice folks there. Check out the players' card. I recommend it, but you'd better be striping it, or bring lots of balls. You'll also enjoy the wildlife.
One of the best-kept secrets on the Oregon Coast. Two hrs south of Bandon OR, it is tucked back up the Chetco River 3 miles and the course is beautiful. You can see deer and birds and the scenery is so great. Take your camera. It can be sunny even if it's not in downtown Brookings. Website offer got us a great deal for 18-holes last summer.
