The 18-hole "Olde Point" course at the Olde Point Country Club facility in Hampstead, North Carolina features 6,913 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.1 and it has a slope rating of 130 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Jerry Turner, the Olde Point golf course opened in 1975.

This is a nice course and a great value. I played in 18 the afternoon and it is the best rate for 18 holes around.

Overall, the course was well maintained. Some of the tee boxes needed to be tended to, but the short ones that required irons were very well maintained. So, putting a tee in near crabgrass for a drive wasn't a big deal.

Also, on a few of the holes, I found it difficult to easily locate the distance markers or sprinkler heads for distance.

A year later and the improvement's continue. New outgoing staff, great carts, new restaurant staff. If they keep their rates moderate this could be the start of the premier Hampstead club.
