This was the first time I have been to Kings Valley and I was pleasantly surprised. The cost was very. Only $26 for 18 with a cart after 2 PM. The clubhouse is small and seem to be a little behind the times compared to the course. I only got to play the front nine due to thunder and lighting. The gave me a gift certificate for another day to come back and play the back nine. I will be going back soon. I'm a poor golfer who shots around 125 from the white tees. Great views from some of the hills on the front nine and clubhouse.

Here is a quick rundown of each hole.

#1 Par 4 with a tee box high on a hill. The hole is 380 but plays shorter on the tee shot. The hole has a small fairway and bunker on the left side that I sadly found. Fairway to green is uphill. The green is open from the from and allows you to run the ball up. Pretty flat green.

#2. Par 3 about 175 yards. The tee box is much much higher then the green. Adjust your club accordingly. Bunker covers the front side on the green besides the left front.

#3. Short par 4 about 300 yards. The hole plays longer and is very much uphill especially the last 50-75 yards. Average size fairway and a good tee shot is critical. Of course I missed badly left and was scrambling lol. A good hole to be aggressive on.

#4. 370 yard par four. This hole is extremely down hill off the tee and requires a accurate tee shot. I sadly messed up right and found the woods. Messing left is okay. Bunker on front left of green can be tricky if you misfit your second shot. Beautiful view from the tee.

#5. A massive downhill tee shot. The hole is a dog leg left and offers a difficult fairway to hit if you can't draw the ball (for right handed players). Three fairway bunkers line the left side of the fairway. Pretty flat green.

#6. 140 yard par 3. That drops about 70-80 feet I would say. You must adjust your club accordingly. Can be aggressive on this hole. One of the easier ones on the front nine.

#7. A long par 5 about 500 yards. That requires a tee shot tightly places between trees. Left to right shot is best since the hole bends right. After the first shot the hole is wide open with a good size fairway. Of the left of the green is a bunker that could make things hard.

#8. 330 par 4. Fairway bends right to left off the tee. If your left a little a bunker in front on the green can be an issue. Been runs diagonally with the right side closer to the fairway. Back left pin location wasn't easy.

#9. Straight forward par 5. 462 yards. A big pond is about 30-40 years short of the green and can be a nuisance if you don't play it smart. Much easier then the first par 5.

Overall the course was a good challenge. I shot a 61 for nine holes. I know that sucks lol. Accurate tee shots and judging the massive terrain changes are key here. Using 3 wood over driver on some holes is a good decision.

Played King Valley for the first time today. Great views of the Allegheny Mountains reminded me of some mountain courses in Colorado. Not long, but challenging for a mid-teens handicapper like me. Shot my best round ever, with an 83 from the tips, including my first-ever eagle on the 18th. What a way to finish a great day!
