I'm a member at Wildwood so I may be a little biased towards my home course. However, I'd like to think that I can give the club a fair review.Wildwood has many unique features you will not come across in other courses in the area. For one, there are more sharp doglegs -- 4 to be exact -- that require strategy over skill. You simply can't grip it and rip it on these holes as an errant drive will send you into the trees. The ninth hole is one of those doglegs with the added challenge of water protecting the green. Aside from being difficult it is quite picturesque. On the back nine Wildwood abuts mother nature on many holes. Slicers beware as a ball lost right is lost in the wild thicket. It's also not unusual to see snakes, turtles and other Florida native animals. Check out the sand traps on the back nine to see if you can see some interesting hoof or paw prints. Pretty cool. All in all, Wildwood is a fun course to play. There are plenty of scoring opportunities (like the par 5s), plenty risk-reward holes and just the right amount of challenge to round it out. When finished, head into the clubhouse, grab a club sandwich and cold one and meet some of the nicest people you will come across. We in Wakulla county would love to meet you, too.
