This course surprised me with its asthetics. Its actually a fun course with reachable par 5s. Relatively forgiving and wide fairways (a few exceptions of course) and some bizzare greens. This course also had some of the more playable sand that I''ve found on a public course in the area. If you''ve played the nicer courses in the area and are looking to branch out and try something different you could do a lot worse than Sunset.

I couldn't agree more with Don's earlier comments, right on the money. My employer has an outing there 2 times every year and they treat us very well. Our outing was on 5/29 and did not disappoint except for the rain. Price is excellent at about $25 to ride. Again, I'm not a very good golfer, but I've played there several times. Your scoring opportunities are in the front, the back 9 requires well placed shots. For the serious players, here is my take with some decent players comments I've heard: 1 - easy hole, 2 - hardest par 4, I agree, up and down the hill, 3 - plays longer than the yardage, 4 to 9 are where the good players will score. 10 - down the hill, 11 - 2 tier green a nightmare for novice players, 12 - trouble on both sides, 13 - up a hill, blind to the green, 14 - let it rip, 15 & 16 - good players will score here, 17 - trouble on both sides, 18 - blind drive. The staff has always been cordial, never a problem. The course continues to get nicer each year. Although there is trouble, you won't loose balls. Good place for both hackers and serious players, and very inviting for outings.

I live only a few miles from this course and I'm glad I do. The pro shop manager guy is a little quick tempered but overall it's a great place to spend an afternoon. I love how I can schedule tee times via the internet, calling someone for a tee time should be a thing of the past. Hole number 10 is awesome! I can really rip 'em off that cliff. Go ahead and give this course a shot, it's not too expensive and the 18 hole course will be a delight for th beginner or the advanced.
