Saxon Golf Course is a family-owned and operated course that’s been around since 1959. The layout, not hazards, make the course plenty challenging. It really doesn’t have a lot of water. The price is always reasonable, you can play for less than $40 anytime, which is a good price point for quality golf. It’s a great course if you have a larger group because if you have 16 players or more they’ll comp you a greens fee. The course plays 6,603 yards from the longest tees and the par is 72. Saxon Golf Course also has white, red, and gold tees, with a red/gold combination tee which is perfect for juniors and seniors. One of the hardest holes is the 8th, which plays 364 yards and is extremely tight. Even the slightest push or pull is going to put you in jail. The hole doglegs to the left, so you need to get your tee shot past the bend to have a clear shot to a really small green. The finishing hole is a tough one to end your round on. It plays 407 yards and the green is protected by a pond front left, which seems to be where the wind likes to blow. With the value and service, you’ll come back to Saxon Golf Course, plus, it’s a good course to score on if you manage to keep your ball in play. Oterwise, have your punchout game in check. The course is located between routes 8 and 28 and just down the street from Lernerville Speedway. Catch a race and a round of golf!
