Salt Fork Lodge & Conference Center Golf Course, Lore City, OH

A really fun course in good condition. It's out in the sticks and quiet. It's too hilly to walk for most, but a good design. Good pricing, too.

Salt Fork is a really nice course hidden in a remote state park. It's well maintained and has some fun holes to play. Unfortunately I enjoy walking and this course is the single handedly hardest course to walk I have ever played in my life. While I enjoy elevation changes, Salt Fork, almost unseemingly had giant downhill and uphill slopes on every hole and many of which had both on the same hole. I suppose this is due to the terrain in the area, however, if this was done by design I think the layout is flawed. Another problem is that the yardages posted are inaccurate. I play about 50 new courses a year and while most profess lengths longer than actuality this course was the opposite. Several holes were 40-50 yards longer than posted making some club selections problematic. The value is only o.k...$40 to ride $22 to walk weekend twilight offseason. Despite these drawbacks it's not a bad place to play if you realize you MUST RIDE and always hit a club longer. The greens were nice, average speed and rolled true. Another perk is they have logo balls for the collector like myself. It's at least worth a one time visit. Overall rating B.

I played the Salt Fork Course two days after three days of rain and even then the green were still quite fast. The overall experience was great and not really being able to see any of the pins from the tee boxes made for a bit of a challenge, not to mention there isn't a flat hole. Salt Fork truly is the green roller coaster. Wish they offered twilight though.

I live close by but never played the course. My kids age 13 and 19, walked the front nine and really enjoyed the completely different golfing experience. A lot of challenging lies and BIG BIG trouble if you wonder left or right with your tee shot. The greens are big and very challenging with lots of slope/undulations, very fast when we played. Overall a very nice course without the Country Club feel. You can relax and be yourself. We're going back this weekend to play all 18

Very nice golf course. Well maintained and beautiful. It is some what challenging if you don't hit the ball straight but it is not really all that long. 28$ for 18 holes w/ cart is a total steal for a course of this quality. I was the only person on the course at 9 am on a thursday, not crowded to say the least. No complaints what so ever.

Have played from u.p. to Tampa and have done several Myrtle Beach trips. This is the most challenging course i have ever played.Its a true test on your game.I play about 3 to 4 rounds a year at salt fork and 76 for 18 holes and 35 for front 9 are my best scores. We have a group of 12 guys that go for a weekend every year and rent a cabin and play 54 holes of golf. For the price , views , and challeng it can not be beat !!

Beautiful course and very challenging. But there are very huge elevation changes and extremely slanted fairways. The place had to be designed by a billygoat. Problem is it is cart path only so you do an extreme about of walking up and down the hills even with a cart. Difficult for older golfers or those with leg problems. I enjoyed playing the course in the past and could still play it if I could take the cart on the fairways, but can't walk up and down all the elevation changes now, so this course will only be a fond memory from now on.
