Great course, easily best in the area. Narrow and tricky, yet fun to play. Really tests your overall golfing ability. The greens are also tricky, with subtle breaks adding to the prestine feeling. Obviously there can't be too much wrong with a Tillinghast course. Whole club is great, kid friendly, etc.

MemoriesThis is the course that I caddied and learned the game. It is and hasto be only one that I would consider really inviting a freind as my guest. The staff is great. Just wish I could go back to the course and play it again after all these years.
A Real Shotmakers CourseI've the fortune to have played this course a number of times, primarily because of my residence in the Albany, NY area. Everytime I play this course, I can begin to imagine what golf must have been like in the early 20th century, and what AW Tillinghast had intended for this course to play like. It is not a long course. Yet it is not a course that you will want to pull out your driver often. In most cases, success on this course is not about how far you can hit your driver. Rather first, it is how well you can place your tee shots in order to give yourself the best approach shots to the green. And second how well you can navigate the subtle breaks of the small yet very well designed "Tillinghast" greens. The course is beautiful and very well kept. The trees are mature. The sandtraps are strategically well placed. It's the kind of course that when you play your first round, you will wonder why you didn't score a better round. And then you realize after a couple of more turns around the course that you really do need to think around this course to score well. The members at the course are very friendly and the dining is excellent. If you get a chance to play this course, you absolutely should take advantage of it.
