Despite what hillhead says, this is a great golf course -- maybe a little short now, brilliant holes -- great Redan, great short, good use of terrain and variety. Cape hole weakened by new road thirty years ago, but really a fine challenge.

lots of goofy holes, to many blind shots. though its very scenic and pretty to look around but as a test of golf it is not. ben hogan walked off this course after the 4th hole saying this is not golf.and the people that work there have a serious chip on there shoulder. very rude espescially the caddies attitude kind of ruined it a little for us. felt unwelcomed from the moment we got there
If you are fortunate enough to ever get an invitation to play National Golf Links, do not let anything prevent you from accepting the opportunity of a lifetime. One of the most historic and enjoyable golf courses in the world, and lobster at lunch is a religious experience.
