There’s private, exclusive golf club and then there’s Morefar Golf Course in Brewster. The fact that Morefar Golf Course is owned by a private company and is only open to employees or by invitation makes this place incredibly special. An invitation to the member-guest at Morefar might be one of the most premium invites in all of New York, city and state. The course is about an 80 minute drive from New York City. Morefar Golf Course opened in 1962 and was designed by Edward Ryder and Val Carlson. The course plays 6,728 yards from the back tees and has a course rating of 73. The conditions are pristine, there’s even a sculpture garden that sprawls throughout the grounds, highlighted by a statue figure sitting on a rock within one of the in-play bunkers. Throughout a given week you’ll only see a few dozen people on the golf course, total. Membership is rumored to be near $200,000 with a foursome costing around $600 to play.
