I am an east coast golfer and played my first round in Los Angeles. I was amazed at how nice a municipal course is and how cheap it was! Tremendous value for you dollar to play here and really easy to geta tee time. i called up day of and they just took my name down and gave me a time. Also this these are the best greens i think i have EVER played on! every roll was true, Playing in NJ, Mrtle Beach and NY nowhere have I ever had such a true roll... Would defiantly recommend it.

The Wilson and Harding courses were designed in the early 19th century, during the Golden Age of Golf, by legendary designer, George C. Thomas, Jr. If you are wondering why the courses do not sport more water hazards, well, it is because the variety of African Grass they chose requires extra watering. The city could not afford to refill all of the original hazards, and so they were slowly removed over the years. One of the courses actually sported a hybrid water-sand trap (mud?) - but it was removed years ago due to modernization. Despite the changes, both Wilson and Harding are challenging courses! These professional Golf courses are some of the most challenging in the Los Angeles area, though, arguably, the occasionally shabby maintenance may have added unduly to this common designation. Get a reservation; it's definitely worth the wait to play these old courses!

This course along with Wilson are just way too crowded.Impossible to get in without a reservation. Not too bad on a weekday though.
